Men's soccer Tigers earn 4-0 victory over Mounties

The Tigers got goals from four different players in their first win of the regular season at Mount Allison Sunday afternoon, improving to 1-0-1 on opening weekend.

Second-year striker Enrico Rodriguez (Halifax, NS) got things started for the Tigers just nine minutes into the match. The Tigers continued to pressure the Mounties defence with Kallen Heenan (Dartmouth, NS) notching his first of the year in the 22nd minute. Dalhousie took a 2-0 lead into the half.

The Tigers were hot out of the gate to start the second with fourth-year midfielder Freddy Bekkers (Halifax, NS) recording Dalhousie's third goal (his first of the season). Skyler Bryant (Whitehorse, Yukon) scored the Tigers fourth and final goal in the 64th minute, sealing the victory for Dalhousie.

Tensions were high on Mount Allison's Alumni Field Sunday afternoon with a total of nine yellow cards assessed between both teams.

Dalhousie heads to UNB to take on the Reds both Saturday and Sunday next weekend, while Mount Allison heads to UPEI Friday night for their next game of the season.
