What can you say about the Cape Breton University Capers men's soccer team?
A day after dominating the CIS No. 4 ranked UNB Varsity Reds in a 5-1 win, the Capers were at it again Sunday, crushing visiting Moncton 6-0 in Sydney.
Justin Maheu continued his torrid start to the season, scoring twice in the 62nd and 72nd minutes. Maheu, who won the AUS scoring title last season, now has five goals in his first two games.
Rookie Joel Eskert-Ayensa also scored twice for the Capers, finding the back of the net in the 3rd and 32nd minutes as CBU improved to 2-0-0 overall.
Mark Stewart in the 28th minute and Shota Ashihara in the 86th minute rounded out the scoring for the home side.
Scott Shewfelt made eight saves in the Capers goal for his second win of the season.
CBU will be on the road this weekend when they travel to Charlottetown Saturday for a 5:15 p.m. game with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers before moving on to Sackville Sunday for a 3:15 p.m. start against the Mount Allison Mounties.
