By Amelia St. John

(Halifax, N.S.) – The Dalhousie women's volleyball team took home their second win against the Memorial Sea-Hawks this weekend at the Sexton Gym on Saturday. The Tigers came out victorious, beating the Sea-Hawks 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-15) for the second-straight day.

The Sea-Hawks took the lead during the first set, with kills from Nella Woefel (Calgary, Alta.). After a brief timeout and two kills from Paris Stewart (Halifax, N.S.), the Tigers evened things up. It was a back-and-forth affair for the rest of the set, but Dalhousie managed to pull ahead to take the first, 25-19.

During the second set, the Tigers brought the heat with kills from Lucy Glen-Carter (Toronto, Ont.) during the first couple of minutes. Kamryn Sanger kept the Sea-Hawks in the game with a strong service game and a beautiful mid-set service ace but in the end, the Tigers ended up taking the set, 25-12.

With key kills and blocks from Ella Hornby (Calgary, Alta.) and Stewart and three timeouts, the Tigers finished off the final set with a convincing 25-15 win.

Lucy Glen-Carter (Toronto, Ont.) paced the Tigers with nine kills and 10 digs, while Ella Hornby had six digs and two blocks.

Sanger, Woelfel and maria Moores each had three kills for the Sea-Hawks.

Hornby was named as the Subway Player of the Game for her feisty energy at the net and strong serves to bring the Tigers to victory.

Both teams will face off once again, returning to the Dalplex to play Sunday at 12 pm.
