(Halifax, NS) On Friday night at the Halifax Forum the UNB Varsity Reds beat the Dalhousie Tigers 2-0 in AUS men's hockey action. Both goalies played well in the lowing scoring affair as Alex Dubeau recorded a shutout for the Varsity Reds while Corbin Boes stopped 40 of the 41 shots he faced in the Dalhousie net.

It looked as though the game would go scoreless until Christopher Clapperton broke the deadlock with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Clapperton fired a shot from the faceoff dot beating Boes. Cam Braes and Cameron Brace were credited with the assists.

Dylan Willick added an empty net tally in the dying seconds.

Dalhousie had no trouble keeping up with the Varsity Reds who have had their way with the Tigers so far this season. The game looked as though it could go either way.

Cameron Brace, who leads the Varsity Reds in points had a penalty shot in the third period but could not beat the red hot Boes.

Dalhousie has now suffered six straight losses with their last win dating back to November 20th. UNB is trending in the opposite direction as they have won six straight games.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow night. The Tigers will host UPEI at the Halifax Forum while the Varsity Reds will travel to StFX.
