Antigonish, NS – The Dalhousie Tigers earned their second win in as many games, both at the expense of the StFX X-Women. Saturday's 51-48 victory at StFX Oland Stadium followed up on their 60-58 win Wednesday night in Halifax.

Like Wednesday evening, this game came down to the wire and was a come-from-behind victory for the Tigers.

In a low-scoring first quarter the teams found themselves tied at 17 points apiece after 15 minutes of play. The second quarter saw both teams struggle on offense as the Tigers went 1-15 and the X-Women 3-17 from field goal range as StFX outscored the visitors 8-5.

The home team held a 25-22 edge at half-time.

The X-Women won the third quarter as well, out-pacing the Tigers 17-10 as they held a 10-point lead at 42-32 after three.

The fourth quarter was all Dalhousie as they went on a couple of scoring runs and the X-Women shooting went cold as they struggled to score down the stretch. Tied at 48-48 with just under a minute to play, Tigers guard Chelsea Wright (Dartmouth, NS) sunk a three-pointer that gave them the lead.

The X-Women were unable to score as they brought it back down court and the Tigers picked up their second win of the AUS season.

Robertha Charles (Montreal, QC) led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points and added 6 rebounds. The Dalhousie bench was strong as Chelsea Slawter-Wright (Dartmouth, NS) scored 13 and Karina May (Moncton, NB) netted 11 with 5 rebounds. Diedre Alexander (Woodstock, NB) was the top rebounder with 9.

For her efforts, Slawter-Wright received Subway player of the game honours.

Chelsea Provo (East Preston, NS) was the top X-Women scorer with 14 points on the night along with 8 rebounds and a pair of steals. Kim Kingsbury (Nepean, ON) scored nine, while Katie MacIntosh hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds.

The X-Women will be back in action with a home-and-home series against Acadia. They travel to Wolfville on Thursday evening, November 9th for a 7:00 pm, then the Axewomen will play at the StFX Oland Centre on Saturday night.
