Tigers Take Weekend Series 2-1 Over Sea-Hawks

(St. John's, NL) The Dalhousie Tigers topped the Memorial Sea-Hawks 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at The Field House. The loss drops the Sea-Hawks record to 12-5, while the Tigers improved to 16-1 on the season.

The teams split the previous two games, with both teams looking to win the weekend series and close out the weekend on a positive note. Although the Tigers won the match 3-0, the Sea-Hawks were in every set, but couldn't seem to close them out when needed today.

The Tigers were once again led by Mieke DuMonth, who supplied 12 kills, 10 digs, and 12.5 points in the win.  She was the leader in all three of those statistical categories for her team today.  Victoria Haworth stepped up for the Tigers, also putting 12 kills to the floor for the visitors.  Abby Czenze had a game-high 38 assists for the Tigers.

Jill Snow gave her best effort to try and will the Sea-Hawks to victory, finishing with 13 kills, 10 digs, 4 aces, and 17 points in the loss. Kier Fey was right behind her with 12 kills, 8 digs, and 13 points. Maiya Westwood dished out 31 assists, while also chipping in with 7 digs.

The Tigers return home next weekend to take on Moncton, while the Sea-Hawks have the weekend off.  Memorial heads to Moncton for three games February 17th-19th weekend.
