Capers use five different goal scorers in 6-0 soccer win over Saint Mary's 

(Halifax, NS)--Cape Breton used five different players to score goals in a 6-0 defeat over the Saint Mary's Huskies Saturday afternoon in AUS men's soccer action.

 

The U Sports No. 5 ranked CBU Capers had first-half goals from Marcus Campanile (Edinburgh, Scotland) in the 14th minute, Joel Eckert-Ayensa (Pulhaim, Germany) in the 35th and Peter Schaale (Bernkastel-Kues, Germany) put CBU up 3-0 in the 44th minute.

 

CBU led 3-0 at half.

 

The second-half saw goals from Cory Bent (Preston, UK) in the 59th minute, Matt Larter (Waverly, NS) in the 82th and Schaale added his second goal late in the 86th minute for the 6-0 win.

 

Bury, UK native Ben Jackson (2-0-0) made three saves and picked up the Caper win in nets.

 

CBU improves to 8-1-1 while the Huskies drop to 1-6-2 with Christian Oxner (Halifax, NS) collecting the Saint Mary's loss with three saves.

 

Both teams are in action tomorrow October 23rd with Saint Mary's visiting Dalhousie (4-0-6) and CBU travels to 6-1-2 Acadia.

 

Kick-off is set for 3:15pm.
