Tigers sweep Sea-Hawks 3-0

(Halifax, NS) On Sunday afternoon at the Dalplex the Dalhousie Tigers cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-12) win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks. Anna Dunn-Suen had a game-high 12 kills.

Courtney Baker was solid for the Tigers as well with 8 kills.

The Tigers were without two starters but had one of their most dominant performances of the year against the second place Sea-Hawks.

Baker started the first set on the right note for the Tigers with five straight serves. The Tigers continued to roll opening up an 11-3 run.

Emma Ciprick closed out the first 25-14 with a nice serve giving Dalhousie a 1-0 set lead.

The Tigers carried over their momentum from the first set taking the second 25-16. Baker continued her strong play with one of the nicest kills of the set putting the Tigers up 15-7. It was all Tigers from there who had no trouble closing the set out.

Dalhousie continued their strong play in the beginning of sets, opening up a 6-1 lead in the third and rolled to take it by a score of 25-12.

Tigers Libero, Marisa Mota had a game high 16 digs.

Fifth-year Jessica Josenhans played her final regular season game at the Dalplex and was honoured by Tigers head coach Rick Scott after the game.

Tomorrow's game that featured a rematch between the two squads has been postponed due to weather. The game has been rescheduled on Friday, Februry 19 at 6pm.
