Tigers top Sea-Hawks in Sunday afternoon soccer action

The Dalhousie Tigers recorded their first win of the season by knocking off the Memorial Sea-Hawks 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at King George V Soccer Field in St. John's.

The Tigers got off to an early start as Will Kafeero (Ottawa, ON) was able to sneak one past Sea-Hawks goalkeeper Braedan Sheppard (St. John's, NL) at the 8-minute mark of the opening half.  That goal would hold up and give the Tigers a 1-0 lead heading into the break.

Memorial was unable to close that gap in the second half and in the 70th minute, it was Kallen Heenan (Dartmouth, NS) who would add an insurance marker for the visitors and put the game out of reach.

Heenan was named the Subway Player of the Game.  He was able to score one goal and registered six shots for the Tigers..

The Sea-Hawks are on the road next weekend, with a Saturday game vs. UNB (3:45pm NST) followed by a Sunday match-up with Moncton (3:45pm NST).  Both games are available live on AUStv.ca.
