The Cape Breton University Capers overcame an unusually slow start to rally for a 4-2 victory over the visiting Saint Mary's Huskies in AUS women's soccer action Saturday in Sydney.
CBU spotted the Huskies a two-goal lead just 18 minutes into the first half, before storming back with four unanswered markers to seal the victory while improving to 9-2-1 on the season.
Stephanie Fagan gave the Huskies (2-9-1) the early lead, scoring both goals for the visitors in the 15th and 18th minutes.
Keona Simmonds in the 23rd minute and Alyssa Armstrong just prior to the halftime whistle, pulled the Capers even after 45 minutes.
Two-time AUS Most Valuable Player Karolyne Blain would notch the game winner for the home side in the 55th minute and Simmonds would pick up her second of the game to seal the deal in the 81st minute.
The Capers will close out the regular season Sunday at home when they host the Dalhousie Tigers in a 1 p.m. start.
