Volleyball Aigles Bleues fall 3-0 to the Huskies

MONCTON -- Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (7-8=14 pts,4th place) played the game, but ended on the short end of the stick with a 3-0 loss to Saint Mary's University Huskies (10-6=20pts, 3rd place), on Saturday, at the CEPS gymnasium, in an Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball game.

Saint Mary's Huskies have won all four encounters between the two teams this season. It was their fifth win in a row. The Huskies were able to defeat the Aigles Bleues 25-21, 25-19 and eliminated a deficit in the third, to win 25-23. Erin Smith led the visitors with 8 kills, 18 attempts, 3 aces and one dig. Pascale Doiron was tops for the Aigles Bleues with 18 kills, 33 attempts, 1 ace and 7 digs. Christelle Bertin and Catherine Guitard had 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

The Aigles Bleues visit Dalhousie University Tigers (15-0=30pts, 1st position), Friday evening in Halifax, at 7 p.m. Sunday, they travel to Fredericton for a game against the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds, at 2 p.m.
