Dalhousie's Jones and Memorial's Blyde named Subway AUS Athletes of the Week

(HALIFAX, N.S.) Dalhousie Tigers women's curling skip Kaitlyn Jones and Memorial Sea-Hawks men's curling skip Greg Blyde have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Kaitlyn Jones of the Dalhousie Tigers women’s curling team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending March 24, 2019.

Jones led the Tigers to a national bronze medal at the U SPORTS Curling Championships hosted by UNB in Fredericton, N.B.

Dalhousie went 6-1 in round robin play before losing 8-2 to Laurentian in the semifinals. They went on to down Queen’s 6-5 in the bronze medal matchup.

Jones was named a U SPORTS second team all-Canadian for her efforts in the national championship.

Greg Blyde of the Memorial Sea-Hawks men’s curling team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending March 24, 2019.

Blyde led the Sea-Hawks to a national silver medal at the U SPORTS Curling Championships hosted by UNB in Fredericton, N.B.

Memorial went 4-3 in round robin play before advancing to the semifinals where they downed Dalhousie 10-3. The Sea-Hawks ultimately fell 10-4 to Carleton in the championship final and settled for U SPORTS silver.
