(HALIFAX, N.S.) Katie Ross from the Acadia Axewomen basketball team and Christopher Clapperton from the UNB Varsity Reds men's hockey team have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Katie Ross of the U SPORTS No. 1-ranked Acadia Axewomen basketball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 26, 2017.
A fifth-year kinesiology student from Bedford, N.S., Ross posted a game-high 20 points, to go along with 10 rebounds in Acadia’s 84-63 win over UPEI Saturday night in Charlottetown, P.E.I. She also had four assists and three steals in the victory.
The game marked the five-foot-11 guard’s first as a starter for the Axewomen basketball team. A dual-sport athlete at Acadia, Ross also started in all 12 regular season and three playoff games for the Axewomen soccer team who were the runners up at the 2017 championship.

A third-year forward from Cap d’Espoir, Que., Clapperton had six points in two weekend wins for the U SPORTS No. 2-ranked Varsity Reds.
UNB hosted the UPEI Panthers Friday night in Fredericton, N.B. Clapperton had two goals and an assist and was named Subway First Star of the Game as the Varsity Reds claimed an 8-1 win.
Saturday, UNB travelled to Moncton to face off against the Aigles Bleus. Clapperton managed another two-goal, one-assist performance as the Varsity Reds won 5-3.
