(HALIFAX, N.S.) Dalhousie Tigers women's cross country runner Savanna Jordan and Cape Breton Capers men's soccer striker Cory Bent have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Savanna Jordan of the Dalhousie Tigers women’s cross country team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 12, 2017.
A first-year kinesiology student from Calgary, Alta., Jordan was named U SPORTS rookie of the year at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championship hosted this past weekend by the University of Victoria in Victoria, B.C.
She finished 12th overall in the women’s 8km race with a time of 28:54.72, the fastest time of any freshman in the championship.
She was named a U SPORTS second team all-Canadian for her efforts.

Cory Bent of the Cape Breton Capers men’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 12, 2017.
A second-year community studies student from Preston, England, Bent was named the championship MVP of the U SPORTS Respect Group Men's Soccer Championship host by Thompson Rivers University this past weekend in Kamloops, B.C.
Bent has six shots In Cape Breton’s 3-0 win over UQAM in the quarterfinals. He followed that up by opening the scoring in the Capers 4-2 win over Thompson Rivers in the semi-final round and had three shots in the game.
The Capers went on to top the Montreal Carabins 3-2 in penalty kicks in the championship final to claim the 2017 national title. Bent was named tournament MVP following the win.
