Philippe Maillet of the UNB Varsity Reds men’s hockey team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Dec. 4, 2016.
A fourth-year business student from Terrebonne, Que. Maillet led the Varsity Reds in a pair of bounce-back wins over Saint Mary’s and Acadia on the weekend.
In Friday’s 8-3 victory over the Huskies, Maillet scored twice and assisted on another goal. He was named the Subway First Star of the Game for his efforts.
On Saturday, Maillet had two goals, including the game-winner, and added two assists in UNB’s 5-2 win over the Axemen. Maillet earned Subway First Star of the Game nods once again for his performance.
