(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Alexandra Maltais of the Moncton Aigles Bleues women's soccer team and Cooper Coats of the Acadia Axemen soccer team have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Alexandra Maltais of the Moncton Aigles Bleues women’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 11, 2016.
A fourth-year applied technology student from Dieppe, N.B., Maltais scored four goals in two weekend road wins for the Aigles Bleues this past weekend.
The 5-foot-3 striker notched one marker in Friday’s 4-1 win over the Mount Allison Mounties in Sackville, N.B. In Sunday’s 5-1 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies in Halifax, Maltais contributed three goals and added an assist.
Following the first week of regular season play, Maltais leads the conference in goals (with four) and in points (with five).

Cooper Coats of the Acadia Axemen soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 11, 2016.
A third-year science student from Halifax, Coats notched six goals for Acadia in two wins this past weekend.
The Axemen hosted the Saint Mary’s Huskies Friday night in Wolfville, N.S. and came away with a 3-0 victory. Coats notched all three Acadia markers in the win and was named Subway Player of the Game for his efforts.
Acadia then posted an 8-0 win Sunday as they played host to the Mount Allison Mounties. The third-year midfielder scored another three goals for the Axemen, including the game winner.
Following the first week of regular season play, Coats leads the conference and is second in the country in goals with six.
