(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Marie-Soleil Deschenes of the UPEI Panthers women's hockey team and Dut Dut of the Panthers men's basketball team have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

A fourth-year science student from Ile-Perrot, Que., Deschenes led the Panthers to two weekend road wins over the Dalhousie Tigers and the CIS No. 5-ranked Saint Mary’s Huskies to snap a 12-game losing streak.
Deschenes made 25 saves to shut the Tigers out Saturday evening at the Civic Centre in Halifax, N.S. as UPEI claimed a 1-0 victory. She was named Subway Player of the Game for her efforts.
On Sunday, the Panthers topped the AUS top-ranked Saint Mary’s Huskies 2-1 with Deschenes stopping 26 of 27 shots to once again earn Subway Player of the Game honours.

An arts student in his fourth year of eligibility from Ottawa, Ont., Dut posted two double-doubles in a pair of weekend wins for the Panthers over the Acadia Axemen
He had a game-high 30 points in Friday evening’s 104-83 victory and added 11 rebounds and a block. In Saturday’s 92-90 win, Dut had 16 points, 16 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.
