Moncton's Corriveau and UNB's Park named Subway AUS Athletes of the Week

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Marie-Pier Corriveau of the Moncton Aigles Bleues women's hockey team and Robert Park of the UNB Varsity Reds men's soccer team have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Marie-Pier Corriveau of the Moncton Aigles Bleues women’s hockey team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 15, 2015.

A second-year information and communication student from Magog, Que., Corriveau had five points in three wins this week for the Aigles Bleues.

She scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown, P.E.I. She then went on to score two goals and add an assist in Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Mount Allison Mounties in Moncton, N.B. One of her goals was also the game winner and she was named second star of the game for her efforts.

Finally, Sunday, in Moncton’s home win over the UPEI Panthers, Corriveau notched another goal and was named third star of the game.

She currently leads the Atlantic conference in goals this season with seven and in game-winning goals with three.

Robert Park of the UNB Varsity Reds men’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 15, 2015.

The third-year striker from Glasgow, Scotland scored two goals in the CIS men’s soccer championship held this past weekend at York University in Toronto, Ont. where the Varsity Reds earned silver medals.

Park notched his first marker in UNB’s quarter-final matchup against the University of Victoria, where they earned a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Vikes.

He then scored the game-winning goal in added time in UNB’s semi-final win over UQAM to propel his team to the championship final versus the host York Lions.
