(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Acadia Axewomen rugby centre Gillian Bergsma and StFX X-Men hockey goalie Drew Owsley have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Gillian Bergsma of the CIS No. 4-ranked Acadia Axewomen’s rugby team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 11, 2015.
A third-year community development major from Waterford, Ont., Bergsma scored a try in Acadia’s 42-17 win over the UPEI Panthers Saturday in Charlottetown.
Her defensive efforts allowed her teammates to score seven tries in the win.

The fourth-year goalie from Lethbridge, Alta. made 35 saves in StFX’s 3-1 victory over the CIS No. 7-ranked Acadia Axemen Saturday night in Wolfville, N.S.
Owsley was named Subway first star of the game for his efforts in the opening night win.
