Subway AUS Athletes of the Week: Dalhousie's McCulloch and UNB's Myatt honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Rob McCulloch of the Dalhousie Tigers men's track and field team team and Sarah Myatt of the UNB Varsity Reds women's track & field team are the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for the period ending February 24, 2013.

Sarah Myatt of the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds track and field team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 24, 2013.

Myatt, a third-year Arts student-athlete from Fredericton, N.B., was named the most valuable athlete of the 2013 Subway AUS track and field championship hosted this past weekend in Moncton.

Sarah captured two gold medals in the 600m and 1000m events, and added two bronze medal performances as a member of the 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams.

Rob McCulloch of the Dalhousie Tigers men’s track and field team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 24, 2013.

McCulloch, a fifth-year science student from Glammis, Ont., was named the most valuable athlete this past weekend at the 2013 Subway AUS track and field championship hosted in Moncton.

Rob, the defending AUS champion in the pentathlon, retained his title with another gold medal performance and a new AUS record of 3,729 points.

McCulloch also earned a pair of silver medals in the long jump (6.61 metres) and high jump (1.99 metres) as well as a bronze medal in the shot put (13.24 metres).
