Profile:
StFX receiver Devon Bailey was one of the top receivers
for the X-Men in 2012 and will be called upon to help lead the
X-Men air attack once again in 2013.
Devon started in six regular season games and finished in the AUS top five in all receiving categories, including fourth overall in total receptions (28), receiving yards/game (55.2) and average (11.8), despite scoring a touchdown.
Following the 2012 season in which he was named an AUS all-star, Bailey was invited to the 2013 East West Bowl at Western University where he did not disappoint. In a close 18-17 loss, the 6-foot-5 Bailey nabbed two receptions in the game for 18 yards for the East team.
He also placed an impressive fifth overall amongst all players in the combine results from the week's testing and was third overall amongst all receivers.
Following the East West Bowl, the Mississauga, Ont. native was listed in Justin Dunk's Top 10 Prospects to watch for in the 2014 Draft on CFL.ca (http://www.cfl.ca/article/dunk-top-10-prospects-to-watch-for-in-2014-draft), the only AUS player to make the cut.
He will be highly touted for the upcoming 2013 season and will be called upon to help lead the X-Men air attack along with fellow senior receiver Jordan Catterall.
Looking ahead to the 2013 season, the veteran receiver hopes to
lead a turnaround by the X-Men, who found themselves out of AUS
playoff contention in 2012, stating, "We've been a 'young team' for
the past few years, and now it's time to take the deserved
respect."
StFX Head Coach Gary Waterman on Devon
Bailey:
"Devon Bailey is a very talented football player who continues to get better each year. He is fun to watch and has big play ability."
"Devon had a great showing at the CFL East West event this year and we expect that to carry on throughout the 2013 season."

What brought you to StFX?
I knew that attending StFX would mean I would be
joining a family, not just a school...and football.
What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so
far?
My best moment in a StFX uniform is a continuing
moment - the new development with people who I can call my
brothers. Another best moment is every time I step out onto the
field, home or away there isn't another atmosphere that can top
it.
One thing I cannot live without is…?
My immediate family/my Momma. Every time, I wake up,
or set foot on the field, I remember why I'm doing what I'm doing
and who I'm trying to make proud. They're my motivation.
If I could have super-hero powers I
would…?
Be able to leave two minutes before practice and
teleport there.
My biggest pet peeve is…?
Seeing wasted talent, knowing someone has the
potential to be great and seeing them not put in the work ethic to
become so.
My dream vacation destination is…?
Spain. Beautiful weather, beautiful food, beautiful
women - what more does a vacation call for?
My dream job is…?
To play any sport professionally (preferably
football).
Tell us one thing that fans may not know about
you?
I LOVE volleyball. I played that and soccer longer
than I did football, but volleyball has a special place in my
heart.
